GRAND OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE KENYA TO THE WORLD
Kenya is among the more than 192 Countries, participating at the World Exposition 2010 in  Siwa, an artefact from Lamu to be exhibited during the Expo. Kenya like other participating countries, intends to utilize this window of opportunity provided by the exposition to showcase her trade, investment and tourism opportunities. The Export Promotion Council (EPC) in collaboration with relevant public and private sector institutions and academia is coordinating Kenya’s preparations and participation at this World Exposition that will market Kenya as a preferred destination for trade, investment and tourism. They provide a forum for developing common perspectives on prevailing and future challenges and threats to the survival of humankind such as, environmental degradation, food security, sustainable development, HIV AIDS, unemployment and poverty, among others Kenya’s theme statement for the event is “Cities of Discovery and Harmony” and is derived from the overall EXPO Shanghai theme, “Better City, Better Life.” Kenya will showcase a fusion of the old and new urban experiences and the uniqueness of Kenyan culture. Over 70 Million visitors are expected at the event. Interested companies are invited to apply for participation and will display their products at the open arena within the African Pavilion. Selected companies will be given an opportunity on a rotational basis to display their products for a period of one month. Participation Requirements Applications have been closed and progress in being made . Successful companies are meet ing the full cost of travel, freighting of exhibits, accommodation, a commitment fee and any other incidentals. There is however, a Kenya National Day, Trade, Investment, and Tourism Workshop to be be held from 9th to 10th September, 2010.
